The MISSION of Considering frugal is to promote a frugal green lifestyle in Wyoming, while educating our readers on sustainability (lasting results). Considering frugal is also decidedly positive. If I have a bad experience, you won’t hear about it here.
Considering frugal exists to shine a positive light on our community. The VISION for Considering frugal is to be a positive influence on our community, at a grassroots level, promoting local business and events while educating on sustainability (lasting results), and resiliency.
My PROMISE to you as a reader is to not be an armchair quarterback! I live, work and volunteer in Cheyenne, and I want everyone to love her as much as I do! I might bring up hard topics sometimes, but it will be with the goal of suggesting a positive solution.
Some terms I might throw around…
Sustainability – an item, value, lifestyle that has lasting results. Things and traditions that we can hand down to our children, whether that is a well built piece of furniture, a good community, or a healthy place to live.
Frugal Green Living – saving money while doing your best to save the environment too
Shopping small – this is the practice of shopping at a mom & pop store – it could be a locally owned mom & pop, but it could also be a small business online or in another community. It applies to those stores owned by one family, maybe two at the most.
Shopping local – this term is choosing businesses as close to home as possible – usually owned and operated in Cheyenne
Shopping a franchise – franchises are what we often think of as chain stores, but they are not, fanchises’ have a local owner or group of owners. Chic fil A is an example of a franchise. It has a national office, but a larger portion of the proceeds stay in the community versus a chain stores. Some chain stores put local products and produce on their shelves, we will talk about that too.
